Our story

Skoert Products was founded in 2019 by Elizabeth Lategan and Barbara van Zyl, inspired by a shared passion for creating practical, eco-conscious products for South African homes. The business began with the launch of our first product — the Fly Repellent Fan – Skoert Vlieg — which quickly gained popularity for its clever design and everyday usefulness.

At the beginning of 2020, Barbara stepped away from the business to focus on family life, and Elizabeth continued to lead Skoert into its next chapter. She introduced the  rechargeable version of the Skoert Vlieg, launched the Skoert Muskiet range, and began expanding into the homeware space with the addition of stylish reusable and disposable placematsas well as our French rolling pin, crafted with quality and functionality in mind.

Today, Skoert is a proudly South African brand offering a unique blend of practical products, custom branding solutions, and playful family experiences. Our expanded range now includes:

• Branded and promotional clothing for schools, teams, and organisations
• The Skoert Travel Bingo Book, a bilingual road trip activity book packed with fun facts and games
• DASH the Meerkat, a soft toy travel buddy designed to make every family adventure more exciting
